- Email width: The standard width for emails is 640px, with a maximum width of 750px. A width larger than 750px can cause formatting errors on both desktop computers and mobile devices.
- Colors:
- Official UIC branding colors are available in the Email Editor and toolbars in all UIC subaccounts
- Standard accessible hyperlink colors #0000EE or #0000FF are also included
- Font: Arial is the global font available in all UIC subaccounts.
- Font size:
- Headlines: Recommended size is between 18–24 points
- Body text: The minimum font size for body text should be 12–14 points, but 14–16 points is recommended.
- Photos/images:
- UIC photography can be downloaded from UIC’s PhotoShelter and uploaded to your Emma subaccount for use in your email campaigns.
- Be sure to add Alt text for every image to ensure your email campaigns are accessible.
- Email rows: While there is no technical limit on the number of rows you can include in your email, it is best practice to keep your emails concise and visually appealing to maintain the reader’s attention. Emails that are too long or overly complex can cause recipients to quickly lose interest and can take longer to load, especially on mobile devices.

How to find UIC branded email templates in your subaccount
We have a variety of UIC branded templates included in each subaccount. SMC will release more templates at a later date.
- You can view email templates by clicking the “Create new campaign” button either on the home dashboard or in the Campaigns tab.
- Once you have selected your campaign type and named your campaign, you will be able to choose one of the existing templates available in your account.
How to create additional templates in your subaccount
Managers and Administrators can edit and customize existing templates and create templates from scratch. They can also create templates from email campaigns.
